3 months before we got pregnant as I started taking them when we started trying only took 3 months lol. But ues def start taking immediately. You can get them over the counter through prescription from you doctor and pharmacy. I take nature made liquid gels with dha and omega-3. They are about 20$ for a three month supply. They are easy on tummy bc they are liquid gels not solid. I have a very sensitive tummy so they work great for me :-). And they are rated top 10 of prenatals only after a bunch of expensive organic and vegan vitamins! :-) my doctor told me they are one of the beat out there when she asked what I was taking. Made me quit happy :-)

I started taking them at 8w,  because that's when I could afford them, plus I was waiting for my first ultrasound to make sure there was actually a baby!

Crystal you can probably get them from any supermarket. Definitely at the chemist as well.

The sooner you start taking them the better. My family doctor and gyno both told me I didn't need them. I ended up going to emerge last week found out I have very low iron and hemoglobin.  34 weeks now and if they had given them to me my iron and hemoglobin wouldn't be so low.  So get them asap

They suggest taking them when you start trying to conceive, if not take them as soon as you test positive

With my first I took them as soon as I got my positive pee test. He's 15 months old and we started trying when he was 6 months so I've been taking them since then.
It's not a bad idea to continue taking them after you give birth especially if you breastfeed.
