I had my 36 week appointment and the didn't check to see if I'm dialated? Seems like everyone else knows if they are... is this normal?

They normal check at 37 or 38 weeks

I think it's normal. Also, my doctor asked me if I wanted to be checked. Some girls have posted they didn't get checked until 39 weeks.
