when do you schedule the first appointment?

I've taken 2 pregnancy tests and they showed up positive right away. My breasts have been sore for about 2 weeks and I missed my period 6 days ago. So I guess my question is, when is a good time to schedule an appointment with your doctor. According to all my pregnancy apps (determined on my last period) I'm 5weeks.

Yeah it depends on the doctor. With my first three I used a family practice doctor and they scheduled me in as soon as I called and that was probably 4-6 wks. With this pregnancy I'm using an OB and called about 4wks but they didn't scheduled me to come in at 8wks so I would be far enough along for an ultrasound. No matter when they schedule you I would go ahead and get the appointment set up now and buy some OTC prenatal vitamins to take while you wait.

Crazy question but when was your last pap smear? When I called my OB they saw I was overdue so they scheduled me for an appointment the same week. Then he did my exam and scheduled my for an ultrasound to date the pregnancy. It was a huge comfort and relief. Try it :) and Congrats!!!!
