Coming off birth control and mess up your cycles some what. In some cases, it can take up to a year for cycles to regulate themselves. So irregular/missing periods can be expected. Just because you missed a period - doesn't mean you're pregnant. Also, you can't take a pregnancy test until at least 2 weeks after intercourse, or when your period is late - but since it's irregular I would stick with the 2-3 week mark.
You need to be ovulating to be able to conceive. Most women ovulate mid-cycle. So for example if you have a 28 day cycle, you're most likely to ovulate around CD14. So you would need to be having intercourse every other day leading up till that day, and then for 2 days after.
You can track ovulation in a number of ways. Charting your BBT (basil body temperature), cervical mucous but the most accurate way is to use OPK's (ovulation predictor kits).
it might be, also when you come off birth control ur cycles can be messed up for a couples months, if i were you i would use the ovulation sticks so u can figure out when you are ovulating
