worth it?

So I did some research looking for elective 3d ultrasound offices. And I think I found a good one. They even do it in a "movie theater" room. Imax sized screen. Now I have never had a 3d ultrasound even with my first. My insurance doesn't cover it. The package I was looking at is $70. Includes ten minutes, two 4*6 pics, gender reveal/confirmation. And a "goodie" bag with infant supplies and samples. And I think for $10 you can get a dvd of the u/s.

So my question is, is it worth it? My SO  and I don't have unlimited supply of money, and I really want to do it! But then I think of all the baby clothes and items we can buy with that amount of money though. My last covered 2d ultrasound is this Thursday for the anatomy scan. I will only be 18w and 4d. So hopefully I will be able to find out the sex too.

So do you guys think the elective scan is worth the $$?

Wow that is cheap. I wonder why its so much cheaper than dr ordered 3D ultrasounds?  My dr sent me to a nearby hospital that did the 3D ultrasound at my 20wk appointment and it cost over $600! I didn't have insurance so I had to pay for it out of pocket. It did last about 30 minutes and and got probably 20 pics but still i would have rathered a regular ultrasound if I could have gotten it cheaper.

I would get it but I would wait until your 25 + weeks since your getting your anatomy scan anyways. Later you will be able to see more features and what not.

I spent alot of time looking for one and finally found one that was $100. First time i went the baby wasnt positioned wel so i had to go back.. second time i went baby wasnt positioned wel again so i never got to see her. Im surebit wouldbhave been worth it if i did see her, but i never got to it was really dissappointing. So im just waiting to see her when she comes in a few weeks

I don't think that's a good deal if it only lasts 10 minutes... We paid 100 for ours and it was 30 minutes we got about 40 pictures and some video and all if it came on a jump drive for us to take home. I would keep looking if I were you

I paid 95 for mine. I got 30 min, dvd, 4 color photos,  15 black & white,  goodie samples, and seeing my baby's personality before he joined us was priceless.

It is worth it. But I would make sure that you don't have an anterior placenta before you get it done (if you can). I paid to have one done not knowing that I have an anterior placenta and it was hard to get any good pics because my placenta was in her face :-(
