thanks for the advice and all my first ob/gyn appt is on wed the 25th so i will find out i was just so worried
well they only did like two one i was standing up and the other i was laying down my first ob/gyn appt is on wed so i guess i will find out if the baby is fine is that i have been sooooo worried since i found out i was pregnant
Im.an xray tech and ot can have harmful effects but if they only did a couple on u then the baby should be fine. I wouldn't worry about it. Im pregnant and i have to have a chest xray last month. Im sure your baby will.be just fine.
Hey... actually I didn't know I was pregnant when it happened. I found out after. My doctors actually wanted to test me for Osteoperosis (sp?) because of the bones breaking. Thinking back - forgot about this one - but right after I was pregnant, I broke 2 of my ribs as well and had x-rays on them and still nothing happened.
I am not going to say that you should have x-rays all the time when you are pregnant, because too much exposure would effect the baby. Although, what i am saying, is that one x-ray should not do anything to the baby, and she should be in the clear. That's all.
I.wouldn't stress, one set of x-rays shouldn't harm.your baby. But talk to.your Dr just in case
I think the difference is that an abdominal X-ray would expose the fetus to X-rays directly...I'm assuming your abdomen was shielded in your foot X-rays because you knew you were pregnant. I had a chest X-ray to check my lungs late in the second trimester, but they double-shielded me, and yeah the baby seems fine. My X-ray tech said she worked there while she was pregnant, but always shielded herself from X-rays and her son was healthy and strong. Unshielded, direct exposure does have some risks though; only your doc and possibly the X-ray tech can tell you how much of a risk. I'm not sure how much of a risk it would be if you're pretty early in the pregnancy. Before I had my X-ray I did some research, the most vulnerable period for the baby is between weeks 10 and 17.
The radiation that the x-rays give off can be harmful. Although... while pregnant with my first child I crushed (all bones were smashed up) my big toe. With this I had to have multiple x-rays to make sure I was healing properly. My son turned out just fine.
Dont stress out too much.... I am sure nothing will happen to your baby. Hope you have a healthy and happy 9 months!!
They could be. It was an abdominal X-ray? You really need to talk to your doctor to see what the risks are.
