I have a dental appointment tomorrow and I know they may try to give me an x-ray. I'm 16 weeks now and this is my first pregnancy. I went to the dentist earlier this year and they didn't want to do an x-ray because I was in my 1st trimester. Is it really safe to have one done now?

I had one dental xray at 14 weeks and that was okay. Had a filling at 20 weeks and he said I needed more xrays but he didnt carry them out and said I have to have them after baby is born because its too risky.

Some denist offices have the xray cover for pregnant women. I just put my hands on my stomach when I had to wear that cover during 1st trimester.

I've had xrays done..As long as you're wearing protection and it's not directly on your belly, you're fine.

Thanks so much! My OB said the baby should be fine but i just needed another moms opinion.

My dentist wouldn't do it either. They told me that they're not going to do one until after I have the baby. An I'm 31weeks.

I was at the dentist this morning. Im in my 3rd trimester. The first is the most critical which is y they dont want to do the x-ray. My ob authorized it just make sure ur wearing the lead apron.
