Thank you for your quick response to my question. My grandsons name is Micheal and he is my sons first child. He was born early because my daughter in law had very high blood pressure that they couldnt control. She started having problems just into her 4 month. I dont know if the fact that she was assigned a midwife from the beginning had anything to do with it not being controled early enough , I just didnt like that from the start. I know this probably a dumb question but at what point are we (familys with tiny babys) able to exhale from relief and smile again? God Bless you and your family, Micheals Grammy
i would just ask drs. if you dont understand somenthing your entiled to know whats going on and what they are doing or giving to him at all time!!!!
And the blood trans is also very common for preemies..my son had soo many i just lost count he even had one like 3 weeks before coming home..thas nothing to worry about..its because they are so small and they keep drawing blood from them they dont have enough time to make new blood so therefore they get pale and of course need blood..dont be surprised if he needs platelets trans too my son also had those!
I will keep you in my prayers keep me posted on his progress...whats the little guys name? and is this your daughters baby?? do they know why he was born so premature??
Thanks i try to explain everything the easiest way possible, being that it only happend 4 months ago everything is still sooo fresh in my mind...sometimes i have nightmares that my son is still in the hospital...its scarry but it will get better soon!
Hugsss!
Gabes Mommy!
Honestly I only know of the one that prevents clots but not sure how its spelled. I worry because he s been doing fine since he was born 19 days ago then they said his blood levels went too low and they had to put him back on ventilater. he had had his 2nd blood trans fusion just 2 days prior. i had read that some lines already come with the hep. so I didnt know if maybe he had way too much for his tiny size (still under 2 lbs). Thank you so much for your reply, Ive read your posts and there very informative. A very SCARED grandmommy.
is it heprin or heparin? lots of people confuse it. Why are they giving it to your grandson?? i know its given to prevent blood clots in the veins, arteries, or lung. My son was never givin it to him so im not sure..if you dont feel confortable you should always ask questions to the drs. and nurse..i always did...how is he doing??
