Best type of surgery

Diagnosed Beginning of March/09- PSA 5.8 , Gleason 7 (4,3) Age 62, % of Tissue involve 25%, 4/10 sites involved, CT OK Bone Scan OK
Top open surgeon prepared to do it but since it's a teaching hospital, prefer  him to do actual surgery not resident , he says he "supervises" which means he may do some but not all. Concerned about impotence and incontinence if  less experienced Doctor does it.

In the geographical area robotics not used as much, only In early stages of use.Longer time in surgery as opposed to open, but quicker recovery. How much experience should a surgeon using a robot have and is the stage suitable for robotics.
Which method for the best personal outcome long term?
