ED

after having a radical prostatectomy without the nerve sparing I have questions about ED. Will Viagra type medications have any benefit for me? Do nerves ever regenerate?

Hi,
Erectile dysfunction --- post prostatectomy without nerve sparing
Your query was related to use of viagra
The benefits of viagra in your case is questionable. There are no studies which can prove it or have shown any results positively.
Have discussion with your urologist and then decide about it.

Hi. There are studies that suggest that nightly use of Viagra for 9 months post-surgery can improve erectile dysfunction in men who have had nerve sparing radical prostatectomy.  In one such study involving 76 men , 27% who received nightly Viagra had improved erections after 48 weeks, compared to 4% of those who did not use Viagra.

However, the study involved patients with a nerve-sparing procedure.  I could not find literature which involves Viagra use after non-nerve sparing prostatectomy.
