PSA after Radical Prostatectomy

I had my prostate removed and 24 days after surgery my PSA was.12
My Dr. said all the cancer was contained in the prostate and nothing in the margines or lymph nodes.
He would like to see me in three weeks to redo the PSA test. He said he likes the psa to be below .1
Do i hvae anything to be worried about.

Thank you for your question. 6 weeks from your operation should be the soonest you will be able to get a reliable reading of your post op PSA.  It is likely your PSA will continue to fall as the PSA made by your prostate before it was removed is still in your circulation.  you should visit with your doctor after the 6 weeks post operative PSA results are available.

Best,
Ash
