Preassure on Prostate

I am 56 yo,and have been having some strange swelling in my pelvic area, off and on,for a couple months.Between hips, around groin, and down into my thighs.I was recently going though withdrawal from Valium, and during this time, and for maybe 2-3 years after, many folks experience many strange things physically, and I ,with other forum help, thought this was the case concerning this swelling.Doctor exam revealed no underlying causes,no lymph nodes, nothing.Blood tests showed slightly elevated white count(18),prostate number was 'within norm for my age",and digital was "a little hard on one side, but fine".Other blood results were close to normal, with a slight possibility of 'becoming pre-diabetic,as yet not followed up on....all this is pretty new.The swelling in pelvis has continued, becoming quite uncomfortable, and feeling sort of inflamed....rclining and sitting being most uncomfortable, standin, not so much.My legs are weak, heck,I'm weak and lethargic all over.I have also been experiencing some bowel issues, with few BMs,but no feeling of constipation...just moving very slowlyThe newest symptom is an extremely uncomfortable preasure in or on my prostate. It usually happens late evenings and during  night and scares me to death.I have anxiety issues that go thru the roof over this.
I pee fairly normally,no pain,no blood, but the sensation of needing to go is different...more like huge preasure in/on the prostate.Usually when I void,I feel better, but this feeling of pressure can sort of rebound a bit..( Did the prune juice thing yesterday, cleaned out lower end,and then last night had the worst attract with my prostate.Urinated and it,mostly, went away.)
I drink lots of water, eat well,no alcohol, but do smoke. Some nights this issue has been severe.I have also started recently to urinate 2-3 times thru the night, most times giving some relief.I also have a general malaise...I just feel sick, mostly in my head, and quite wobbly on my legs..Am very weak.
Any ideas on how to approach my GP on this?...He doesn't seem to take any of this swelling seriously, and was quite flip about my symptoms after his exam and the fact that I had no leaking, dribbling, pain, difficulty in urinating.
I live in rural northern Canada, and access to "big" medical care is limited.....so just going to another doctor is not easy.
Any thoughts?....My concern is my symptoms are not classic from what I read, and that my doctor will not go forward with any possible treatments...I'm afraid that my symptoms seem to vague and not to form.
