Ureter Reimplantation

Has anyone had their ureters "reimplanted"? My urologist is insisting that because my ureters are clogged due to the tumor/cancer, the only solution to being able to continue to urinate normally is to move the ureters to a different location on the bladder...away from the tumor. I've had stents for 8 months, changed several times but was not able to urinate without horrible pain.
