3 year symptoms

Ever since I starting taking birth control, my body was never the same. I'm having problems making enough urine everyday and I have daily diarrhea. I seem to retain alot of the water I drink, and I'm straining when I urinate and have bowel movements (even when the stool is soft). It seems like I get more watery stools when I drink a moderate amount of any sort of fluids. Exercise of any kind makes these symptoms worse. This is not a diet problem, I've been carrying a food journal to keep track, and it doesn't seem like it's my diet that's causing these symptoms. Please HELP!!

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Birth pills do cause water retention. Both estrogen and progesterone component can cause water retention. Consult your gynecologist and check if there is a combination that will suit you. Usually a low estrogen pill causes less water retention. On the other hand the pills could have precipitated an underlying kidney problem. You must get a kidney function tests done. You could also be having an irritable bowel.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
