Hi,
How a re you? It is difficult to prescribe over the net without actual or direct evaluation. White spots or whitish coating on the tongue may be caused by leukoplakia, oral thrush or oral lichen planus. In leukoplakia, cells in the mouth grow excessively and may lead to the formation of white patches inside the mouth, including on the tongue. Oral thrush is a yeast infection that develops inside the mouth and most likely to occur after the use of antibiotics. Oral lichen planus presents with a network of raised white lines on the tongue that has a lace-like appearance. Have this checked by your doctor for proper evalaution., Take care and regards.
I had told u about my not being able to speak properly, which i suspected was of smoking. I tried reducing smoking, but that was not so successful. But , today i noticed that when i looked into the mirror, my tongue is not fully red or pink..it is mostly white...as full of white dots....i think this is a deficiency of something..can u prescribe me medicines so as to me able to speak properly with my tongue?
Thanks a lot
Hi,
Thank you for your update. If this is the case, this can be related to your smoking. Nicotine has been implicated to cause gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, dry mouth, dyspepsia, hiccups, flatulence, increased salivation, and unpleasant taste. Try to avoid cigarette smoking or exposure to nicotine to prevent such symptoms. Take care and best regards.
Hi,
Thankyou for replying. But there are no symptoms other than this increases if the activity of cigarrette smoking is increased in a day. Also, the days I don't smoke, I have very less of this speaking trouble. ie. Saliva doesnt mumble my speech by playing on my tongue and sticking onto it.
These are the symptoms . Thankyou
HI,
How are you? Are there other symptoms present? It is not easy to diagnose over the net with out actually examining you. If you have problems with your speaking and excess salivation, it is best that you have this checked by your dentist or oral surgeon. This may be due to seasonal allergies among other things. Antihistamine medication and increased water in take may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
