Tingling/burning mid way on Penis

I had sex with a girl last time 9 days ago. We used protection and over a peroid of 5 days were intimate at least twice per day. After she left, 2 days later, I had a mild itching around the base of my penis, at the location of teh scrotum. All are on the upper side. I noticed that there were 5 zit like spots. When touched, they hurt. I realize that your not supposed to pop these things, but I tried anyways and all that would come out was blood. I called her and she said that she had teh same thing. After 5 days, I had a new one showing up on the base of my penis. I noticed that my scrotum was sensitive to heat, whether hot or cold. I also have a tingling sesnation through my pelvic area (as of today)
I went to the doctor and he advised that they were not genital warts, but some kind of inflammation of the hair folicles. He recommended a Sulfur soap. Done. Felt relieved. He asked me if I had pain when peeing, asnwer No.
I have no discharge and my penis is normal color.
The big thing right now is, I tried masturbating last night and gave up. Nothing would happen. My penis had a burning pain upon stroking about half way up in the urethra.
This morning, after using a jet of water and stroking, I was finally able to orgasm, but after going through that intense pain in the urethra, (like having soap inside for a reference of the pain that I felt) and it took forever.

Also tingling throughout pelvis, thigh, inner and outer, buttocks, like you would experience when you have the flu and you can't get warm.

Anyone have any ideas here?

The doctor said to go back in a week.

Hi,
How are you? Aside from shingles, this could also be caused by another viral infection, caused by the herpes simplex virus.  This first outbreak usually happens within 2 weeks of being infected and presents with generalized or whole-body  symptoms : decreased appetite, flu-like and muscle aches in the lower back, buttocks, thighs, or knees. Genital symptoms include the appearance of small, painful blisters. Before the blisters appear, skin tingling, burning, itching, or  pain at the site where the blisters will appear are usually observed. Thee blisters usually break and leave shallow ulcers that are very painful. Take care and best regards.

Yes it is possible for young-middle aged adults to have shingles.  It is similar to the chicken pox virus & can cause a variety of side effects.  I have had both an elderly grandmother & a 30's friend have them.  The spots/blisters is similar to my friends and hers came forth during a very stressful period in her life.  She fought them for the next year after that but seems to have gone about 6 months without a flare up.  I'd keep looking into that if I were you.

I have been doing some reading. Is it possible that I may have shingles??? Oddly, a few months ago, I went to the doctor for what I believed to be bug bites. They were all on my left side of my body which stumped the doctor. He had no answer, but gave me some corotsone cream. The spots/blisters went away. Now I have the above issue. Could it be related and if so, could I have shingles?
