Unknown Reason for Failure to Thrive in Baby

My daughter who recently turned one has recently been diagnosed with failure to thrive. She was born 50% and in the past 5 months went well into the 0%. She refuses to eat most of the time, or drink. I have actually dried up because she wasn't breastfeeding. She is even loosing weight when she is eating. Her actions are not behavioral (been checked 3 with that one). Her red blood cell counts are in "normal range" but are slowly dropping while her white blood cell counts are also in "normal range" but are slowly increasing. She was recently admitted into the hospital where an ultrasound came back negative, MRI was negative, however they found a moderatly sized hole in her heart (ASD). Her cardiologist refuses to think this is causing her issue. Were at a complete loss!! She has started having bluish/purple tinged lips after waking up also. The right side of her heart is also enlarged and when she was being admitted into the hospital her heart rate jumped up to 189. If it's not her heart than what is it??.....Any ideas!?!?!

Well they found a hiatal hernia in her esophagus, ulcers and inflammation in her small and large intestines, and she has severe reflux. They aren't sure whats causing the ulcers after all the biopsies so were still searching for an answer. She will still need open-heart surgery and possible surgery to correct the hernia. Reilly is also on two ant-acids that seems to be helping. She's put on about two pounds since the last time we spoke. She's also going to be attending physical therapy bc she shows poor muscle stability and strenght...never crawled...doesnt even know how. They're still searching for more issues because they don't think its over. However on the bright side an early intervention team came the other day and cognitively she functions between 18-21 months. . . .She's only 14 months!! :o)

Heather, thanks for sharing and I never thought this sight can help let out feelings, concerns and/or get opinions to try and help others.  Praying that Baby1 (your baby) recups, eats healthy and strives to be on top.  (I am a mother of 2 precious boys and I know how hard this is).  Thinking of you.  If you but Greek Yogurt and mix with fresh blueberries in a blender then create popsicles, she will love them.  I sneek other things in like Flaxseed, honey and granola but my boys are 4 and 5 but your baby can benefit with the 2% Greek Yogurt, (NO HONEY bc she could be allergic) and the blueberries in the blender then freeze them.  It's nutricious and yummy.  Good Luck.  Numbnumb (real name Yassie)

Thank You! We plan on going until we get an answer! Right now she's on a high calorie diet so the little intake she gets it's putting some kind of weight on. Thank you!

I beg you and I know how horrible it is when there are no answers, but push for a spinal tap, have them feed her intravenous or take her to the Mayo Clinic bc every minute counts.  My Lord, this is crazy, protect this baby...  I am not religious, but my heart hurts for you.  Keep us posted, NumbNumb.
