cold sore ???

I have a small raised bump on my lip, not noticeable unless you stare a into my lip. It first appeared 6 days ago when all of a sudden I felt like a burning sensation and my lip felt swollen. Since then I have been putting cold sore medicine, thinking it could possibly be one starting out. I have never had one before, but my sister-in law and friend said they start out in a tingling or burning or itching sensation. So, upset, but worried, I continued the ointment. Six days later, it looks exactly the same maybe a little dry but the same. IT does not hurt nor did it ever, I bite it with my lip to tighten it to see if there is a fluid filled  bump under the skin or anything there, but nothing, just a lip. What could it be? I think I also have a similar bump on my ring finfer tip, doesnt hurt and doesnt get worse! help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? Cold sore usually presents with small, painful, fluid-filled blisters and preceded by pain or tingling. This usually clear up within about two weeks. The blisters form, break and ooze. Then a yellow crust forms and leaves a pinkish skin that heals without a scar.  If it persists, you may need to have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Direct clinical examination is essential. Take care and regards.
