The first thing you do is go get yourself checked out at a gyne and I the flu shot has nothing to do with STD's, so I don't know what the hell he is talking about.  You would have to prove that he gave you the STD and it was with intent in order to sue him, but you can always contact a lawyer and get a free consultation on the situation if you have a case or not. I would do the same, because there are STD's that you will carry for the rest of your life, so doctor first, results second, lawyer 3rd for consultation if you have a case or not.  Good Luck.  Judy

I just read it can be given both with an injection or oral antibiotics as long as it's in the first stage.

Wait, I'm a little confused.  So the doctor was trying to give you the vaccine for Syphillis and saying it was a flu shot?  I didn't think they even treated STD's with vaccine's anymore.  I thought it was treated with antibiotics.

Well technically, it doesn't have to tell you that your boyfriend had an STD since it's called doctor-patient confidentiality.  But if he drew your blood he could've told you that they ran tests for all STD's, I don't believe they need to consent for that, the only one I remember signing a consent form was for HIV/AIDS.  But he could've said he ran your blood and that came up.  Syphillis is a very, very serious STD.  Not that they all aren't, but just like heatherlynn pointed out, it can cause brain damage and death.  So if you do have Syphillis, you need to be treated for it ASAP.  Don't go back to this doctor but I would report him since he was trying to give you medication and lying about what it was for.

nobody else has to know but it is required by law that all sexually transmitted diseases be reported to the CDC (center for disease control). they put it on a record (they don't publicly announce "so and so has this std" they use it for their own records so that they can keep track of what diseases there are and so on and so forth) go to YOUR doctor. don't go to anyone your deceiving bf recommends. for syphallis they give you a shot of penicillin and that is something a lot of people are allergic too. (my little brother is deathly allergic to it. he has to wear a medical alert bracelet so if something happens to him they know NOT to ever give him penicillin) and yes get a lawyer. what your bf and this doctor did is not only morally wrong but against the law. they canNOT keep that from you and they MUST report it to CDC. whether he's embarrassed or not (since he gave it too you, you have nothing to be ashamed of. he lied to you, deceived you and gave you a possibly life threatening disease) he had no right to lie and neither did this doctor. if this doctor was willing to lie for your bf imagine how many others he's done it too.

don't be nervous. you were violated. you were lied to. you were wronged. nobody has the right to withhold YOUR medical information and lie to you about it. just remember that they put your LIFE in danger! granted syphallis is now easily treated within the early stages HOWEVER if you would not have found out and never get the shot...it will turn your brain to swiss cheese and you would have eventually died. he LIED to you about something very serious and if it wasn't for him getting drunk you could have gotten the shot too late. keep thinking about that when you do go to your doc and you get that lawyer. so don't be nervous, don't be afraid and DO NOT be ashamed! you have NOTHING to be ashamed of! be strong and good luck!

get the shot....then contact a lawyer. what he did was illegal. you can sue him AND nail his a$$ for malpractice. you have a communicable sexually transmitted disease that (if not treated early on) can kill you. he also is required by law to report it to the CDC so if he didn't do that...the law can get involved and put him in jail. it is his responsibility to tell you what it was and not pussyfoot around it to keep your boyfriend happy.
