I think that they are great for little kids.
hehe thats funny. I might try the hamster thing. My husband and I had discussed it once because he had a couple growing up. He use to put it in a little ball and let it run the house.
Nothing much, the cage just has to be cleaned, you have to feed them and keep the water bottle filled and clean. That's it. It really isn't much. The only problem with them is that they are nocturnal and will be on the wheel annoying everyone at night. Your girls probably won't even hear the hamster because kids are oblivious to anything when they are sleeping. I used to love my hamsters, although it was rough when they died. I'm an animal lover so of course when any of my pets died, even my goldfish, I was in mourning.
we had three gold fish for 2 years, and one of them just died the other day.
I may consider the hamster thing. So, what all goes into having them? Don't lie... hehe
I'm sorry a few years, not a few months. Hello!!! I'm so tired.
Not all hamsters bite, and they nibble, I don't believe they take a chunk out of the finger or anything like that. They're cute, it's fun to build up the cages. You can get all of these tunnels for them and wheels. They also have little cars you can buy for them and they can go around the house in the cars. I had hamsters all throughout my childhood and I loved them. The only problem is that I don't think they live too long, I think they only last a few months or so.
I heard hamsters bite? Is that true.
I don't do dogs, I already have my hands full with my kids.
Cats, soooo allergic makes my eyes swell shut.
Tell me more about hamsters though.
Well one year I got a huge barbie doll head to do make up and hair on. It scared the living heck out of me. That certainly made my eyes pop....lol. What about a pet? It doesn't have to be a dog or cat but maybe a hamster?
Now if I knew what I meant by meaningful I wouldn't be asking............. hehe kidding.
I don't know something that just makes their eyes pop on Christmas morning.
I know you want to avoid the loud gifts, I hear ya on that one. We used to buy my fiance's daughter really noisy gifts so that she could go home and annoy her mother with them. We can't stand the woman so it was always fun to do that. Noisy gifts can be fun, you just have to limit their time on them. I like the motorized car idea, those are so fun. I remember my godparents gave my godsister one for x-mas and we didn't get off of it for months. Meaningful???? What exactly did you have in mind for that?
WHAT?????? Are you kidding about the drums? Goodness.
We did the bike thing for birthdays this year.
I want to do something really meaningful this year for Christmas, funny thing is I have no idea what?
my husband hates video games, he says it makes kids lazy and they should be outside. hehe
Power wheels, that is what my husband wants to get them. I'm fine with that but I was thinking pretty red mustang, or pretty pink jeep. No John says dark green four wheeler. Such a guy!
they are into everything princess.
I was thinking about American Girl dolls, but I think they are still to young. My mother got me a couple of those when I was little, and I still have them. Mine are orginals and they are signed so I don't let my girls play with mine.
Ok-I'm in the same boat as laura about the whole christmas thing. I have no idea either...so, my hubby and I were talking and thought about going on a vacation in Colorado instead of buying presents....We ran this across our kids(told them santa would be okay with it) and my son 7 and my oldest daughter 8 were perfectly happy with it but my youngest was like no way...I want presents!
Does this sound like a crazy idea??
laura1977.....we bought our girls the disney mp3 players last year, they loved it! or maybe, the
v-tech stuff or leap frog computers(educational), power wheels??? and my girls always love make-up and dress-up clothes.
what are they into right now?
You know when I turned 4 my mom gave me a beautiful yellow gold necklace. It was very thin and it was short. It looked really cute on me. Just a thought, maybe it helps.
Do you have pets? You can get them pets. Do they like birds, dogs or cats, little turtles perhaps? Children usually love pets. If you think it is not convenient to get an animal or of you already have one then you may want to buy them a video of their favorite cartoon characters. Mami1323 has a good point with the bike or even a trike. Hope this helps. Good luck
Do they play video games? There are some good learning ones. Do they like instruments? You can get them keyboards or a drumset. You can buy bikes for them. Also, the 5 year old would probably love arts and crafts gifts. There are some where little girls can make their own jewelry.
