Most Likely Going to Live Without My Husband for a Time

So I am going to be getting a job here soon. On top of that my husband is probably going to have to move back to MN. He has put in a transfer where he works. We also have to serve out the end of our lease in IL. I.am going to put in for a transfer, in a few months. They will let me.
My husband is planning on living with his Mom and.Dad.  I just wanted some advice on things I can do to make it easier, if I do have to do this.

I know it will be hard. My sister lives in IN and her husband just got a job based out of MI. It is hard with two children but they make it work. I do not know if I could do it but she is such a strong woman, he comes home every 3 or 4 weeks for a few days,  She said they actually spend better quality time together when he does come home and they talk on the phone a lot!

Just try to keep your life ultra simple and as peaceful as you can.  When I was in grad school, I lived in another state from my husband, and we only saw each other every couple of months.  In some ways that made life a lot simpler.  I never watched much TV (kept it in a closet), read a lot, ate lightly (you don't cook as big of meals when alone) and did my studies.  I had one dog for company, my husband (at home) was the one keeping up the whole extended-family, social, household, pets thing.  For me, it was peaceful.  We did burn up the phone lines and email connection.  :)
