What is a relationship without trust?

Trust is everything.Without it there is NO relationship.

Trust is essential.  It can be lost and it can be gained back.  Gaining it back takes a tremendous effort on both people's behalves.  The one trying to gain the trust back has to prove that they are worthy of that trust, again.  They must do all of the right things, but it has to be for the right reasons... they have to want the relationship to make a recovery.  If they are trying to gain trust to "look like the good guy", that is more deception and trust is never gained or lasts on deception.

The person who wants to trust has to fully understand the circumstances under which the trust was lost.  This persons ego is going to do all it can to protect this person.  The ego will say, 1,000,000 times.... "this person hurt you, so stay away" but in the mean time you've rationalized that this person who hurt you is worthy of another opportunity.  The person who want's to trust has to be able to work through the protection barriers that the ego is putting up.  It too is a lot of work... a lot.

It can be done....

Yes, I do.  Sometimes people can work and prove their sincerity and can gain back trust.  

You give no details, so this is just my answer on the surface.  

But some can work to gain your trust back as long as you are willing to give them a chance.

Well, a relationship without trust is one with no foundation.  It can plug along until the least little thing happens and then it crumbles.  

Then there is no relationship.
