What do you do when you KNOW you are right but your partner thinks they are?

This is a long term relationship dilemma.  LOL  What is your approach when you believe in your heart of hearts that you are right on something but your partner thinks they are?  Do you keep fighting it, give in and say whatever?  What works for you?

Well, depending on the dilemma, if it's serious enough not to back down and I'm not talking about petty things I'm talking about life changing things. Then you stand your ground with respect, but if it's petty, humble yourself and let it go. Die to self. ;)

I get quiet and just know deep down inside that I am correct OR if it is something I can prove then I show him my proof.

If it's a point of fact that can be verified,  I'm pretty quick to say ok,  I don't remember it that way,  but maybe.  And then at the first opportunity I check the facts and tell him if I was right.  I don't bother to tell him if I wasn't right.  ;D  If it's something that can't be verified,  I act the same way but can't attempt to verify it.  I've been wrong often enough  - and right often enough - to realize the best tactic is to just be humble and then quickly race to Google and get an answer,  when possible.

"ok,  I don't remember it that way,  but maybe .. " I think I'll try this tactic more often, as well as the part about fact checking on the internet during or immediately as a follow up. Nothing quite like learning and living your life with diplomacy ; while still getting the facts straight for the benefit of all.

Well, that can work.  ha.  My husband will keep going though.  So I have to just eat it (stay quiet and gloat internally that I KNOW I'm write) or go for the banter to prove my point.  Depends which mood I'm in.  :>)
mine drones on as well
at such times , I internally congratulate him on hitting it so lucky to have a gal so much smarter.. haha
sometimes it goes south , especially when he says... "oh you're SO smart, you know everything" and that really peeves me, like it's a crime to know what you're talking about and / or that I  know enough not to be bamboozled or have my opinion swayed with bull@#$!!. Ha. It usually happens when he's missed a meal. When he gets hungry or tired, he's like a bear, and will literally walk right through me to get to "tea" or dinner or to his bed. Kind of reminds me of the "terrible twos" at times.
Lol! So true.
