What if your partner makes a comment that your best friend is hot?

Just curious.  How would that make you feel?  All my best friends are middle aged like me, ha ha.  But I read things like this and wonder how I'd feel about it if my husband just mentioned how hot my friend was.  Would it intimidate me?  Would I care?  Would I agree with him?  Would I worry?  Would I laugh? What would you do?

If it would ever happen it would only happen once as he would never say that to me again!  I would make his life hell for awhile!!

Well, it's a what if.  lol.  My husband really isn't that stupid either.  But I wonder how I'd react if I knew he thought my best friend was gorgeous.  Would I be less inclined to have her over because that kind of makes me be insecure or would I be so secure it wouldn't bother me?  I am human, we all are.  Not sure how I'd react.  Thank goodness none of my friends are gorgeous.  ha ha, kidding.  A couple are.  But it has never been something I thought about.

I agree with Annie.  I couldnt imagine my hubby ever saying that as it would be so out of character for him to do that.

I kind of like it when my husband speaks favorably about my friends, and he sometimes does. He will talk about someone (like another mom at the school where my son goes) with whom he has had an interaction or a conversation as being super nice. That's sweet! I even make it a point to tell my girlfriends that he really thinks highly of them. But he never comments on them being "hot," that would be so unlike him that pretty much the world would end before he'd think of it (it's objectifying them) and certainly he wouldn't dream of saying it to me. He will, sometimes, comment on someone being pretty, but that is as far as it goes. (He thinks Scarlett Johannson is pretty, and was very sorry she didn't get more air time as whatever-it-was she played in the Marvel movies.) He's kind of an old-school guy, I think, and also it helps a lot that he had sisters. He sees women as human beings, not bodies. Just one of the many reasons I married him. :)

Oh, and if I were to run this as a hypothetical and imagine him saying this to me, I would seriously wonder if he had lost his mind, because it would just be so out-of-character that I'd worry he was crazy. It would just be so out of character that it would be like if I were to come in swigging Jack Daniels and smoking a cigarette and wanting to go to a Monster Truck show. It wouldn't be either funny or insulting to him, it would just be entirely off track.
