First: i agree with ireneo...you should have ead up on pythons before you got it.
Second: Feed it like you normally would. Med sized rats are good.
Third: If you havent already, start reading because this thing is just gonna get bigger.
it depens on what kind of python you have...i feed only frozen thawed...rats or mice...most likely you snake will eat rats...you can buy all sizes...goggle frozen rats...make sure you thaw them out all the way before feeding...i would say medium size rats....billy
It would have been helpful to read up on it first before bringing the snake home. There must be helpful books at the local stores or even at the library to get you started. Check up on housing, light, hydration needs and feeding. I've only had turtles and they need full-spectrum lighting and special prep for estivation. Personally, if you're thinking of using live prey I would not use rats. We don't use them at work, even when feeding large birds like eagles. It's too easy for the rat to fight back and cause wounds. Or in a confined setting the rat could bite just because.
