Bad smell in sinus

I recently had all my wisdom teeth removed and I complained that there was mucus coming out of the top left hole. The doc made an appointment and pretty much told me everything was okay. Ive been having bad bad bad headaches, really bad throbbing and pain in my tooth extraction area, cheekbone area, my eye, and under my eye(sinuses). My left eye has also swollen up, and also become blood shot 2 times lasting the hole day and even a little into the next.Just recently Ive had the really bad smelling mucus come out of my nose, but only for about 20min then stopped, my eye also started watering and it looked like I was crying out of one eye with mucus coming out of one nostril. With normal sinus infection I get clear stuff drip out of my nose and make me cry, but not actually mucus, at least not like this. My temple feels like its going to explode as well. I think I have sinusitis, but my doctor who removed my wisdom teeth says everythings okay, you just coincidentally got a sinus infection. But Ive had 100+ sinus infections ._. Ive never been able to taste, smell, small amounts of blood and feel this pressure and pain... When I get a normal sinus infection I get lots of uncontrollable snot and my eyes water, but no pain and no smell. This is bad... Please tell me what I should do...

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
What you describe is an urgent matter that requires immediate attention.  Contrary to what you have been told, everything is not O.K!

There is a high probability that you have a serious infection that involves more than one sinus and there is the risk that the infection has already spread to other tissues adjacent to your sinuses.  You might even have a most serious medical problem called, Cavernous Sinus Thrombosis.

You must seek medical attention immediately, on an emergency basis, if you have not already done so.  You may require hospitalization, should be evaluated by an ENT specialist and an Infectious Disease Specialist and will definitely require antibiotic therapy, possibly intravenous therapy.

Do not engage in any further delay.  Contact your primary care physician and have a friend or relative take you to the nearest large hospital emergency room for diagnosis and treatment.  Please let us know how things go.

Good luck
