Severe SOB and Chest pain with other symptoms.

I am a 25 year old male.  I am currently experiencing the following symptoms

1. SOB - Mostly during exercise, but more recently during moderate physical activity.

2. CHEST PAIN - Like the SOB during exercise, but becoming more frequent, intense and lasting longer (1-8hrs)

3. DIZZYNESS - Reoccuring episodes of light headiness.

4. FAINTING - Several separate instances of fainting while exercising.

5. TIGHTNESS - It feels like I am wearing a corset

6. COUGH - Persistent dry cough.

7. FATIGUE -Constant state of tiredness with no apparent cause

These symptoms began to become apparent around Aug 2005.
Symptoms become aggrevated with exercise (anything around 1 1/2 miles) Although they are becoming aggravated with minimal exertion at times.

It is important to note that I am an active duty US Marine who was shot in the upper chest in April 2004.  Told it caused a Pulmonary contusion.  Took a recent PFT PEF was at 62%.  I have been scheduled to see a pulminologist.  I also have an appointment today to do another EKG.  First one taken around Aug 2005 came back normal.  I have been told it could be Pulmonary Fibrosis.  Am a little worried as the symptoms are getting worse with time.  Please help.

If you were older, the concern would be about possible coronary artery disease.  But, at your age, much of what you describe could occur with an abnormal heart rhythm.  The shortness of breath, of course, could be exercise-induced asthma.  While you may have some localized scarring from the shot to your chest, it is very unlikely that your symptoms are an indication of pulmonary fibrosis.

Here are 2 questions to talk with the pulmonologist about:

During my appointment today they did another EKG which turned out normal, they also took Chest X-Rays which also showed normal.  It doesn't seem like they are able to find the cause of my problems and of course I don't know what is going on.  I will add additional information as it is made available to me.  Thanks
