Burning in throat/chest

dlj
I have been treating allergies/sinus infections for several weeks now.  In addition to a nasal steriod, I am taking Cipro for the infection.  I am still experiencing a fair amount of sinus drainige in my throat.  I have noticed in the past week or so that I have a pain or a sort of burning sensation in my throat or chest, I am not exactly sure where, when I walk in the cold air, or at times when I bend over.  I do not seem to be short of breath and have no other symptoms.  In addition, this pain or burning sensation is not present constantly, just periodically. I am wondering if my throat is still being irritated from the draininge, or if this, (being the second round of antibiotics), has somehow irritated my throat?  Can antibiotics cause this type side effect?

This is most likely still due to the sinus infection and the drainage.  This is not from the antibiotics.  After this time period of therapy, it probably is a good idea to have a CT of the sinuses.  This will show if there is an obstruction in the sinus, which is preventing a total recovery.  This is not uncommon.

Could be acid reflux.  Burning in center of chest and does it get bad when you have been laying down?  Antibiotic will make acid relux bad.  Sounds like you may need Malox and some stomach medicine from your doctor.
