Child with severe sinus odor

I have a 2 year old grandson, who was born 3 months early.  For the past 8 months or so he has had horrible sinus/mouth odor, almost fecal smelling.  He also always seems to have a cold/sinus issues.  He's so cute, but this  makes it very hard to get close to him, the poor thing.  Does anyone else have a similar problem and what do we do.  His mom and dad are poor and their living situation isn't the greatest.  I'm going to try to get him to see an ENT doctor.
Thanks for any help.

Yeah, my daughter put an unpopped pop corn kernel in her ear the day before Easter when she had just turned 4.  Motherly experience.  :)

Good thought. I did that once as a child.

Children that age tend to put things up their noses.  Seeing an ENT to make sure nothing is up there is a good idea.  I know of a kid who put live sponge up their nose.  A foul smell and drainage resulted.

Some doctors do pro bono work or will charge very little when they understand the problem. We found a doctor for  a recent immigrant with severe hypertension. Her normal visit was $125, but she offered to charge him $75. She is a good doctor and is taking excellent care of him. I know that my doctor does pro bono work. He keeps it quiet so he won't be inundated.
