Hello! I have had half purplish/blue half white nails for about 2.5 months now and I am just curious why you suggested the CAT scan? No other symptoms except for swelling of hands in the morning.

Thank you!

my docs. also have no concern for my nails either and they keep saying anxiety. I could accept that if my nailbeds were purple for the last 2 1/2 years. Are doctors really that untrained as to not know what causes this? If so then why do they make so much money? i also feel short of breathe alot and dizzy. All tests are normal.  Im a 30 year old male who is otherwise healthy. Im just sick of no good answer.. Ive researched this on the net and cant find much about it.. Let me know what you find out..Take care

Then, these doctors need to address the reflux and anxiety. I know sometimes easier said than done with doctors though. I have for years suffered with reflux and anxiety. There are a number of good meds for both. Hope you feel better soon.

I have actually been to six dr.s and to the er a lot!! They show no concern for my nails at all. They say my oxygen is normal and talk about reflux and anxiety. That is why I need help....very frustrated!

I suggest you contact your doctor and if he is not available to see you, go to the ER. Blue nails is a sign of low oxygen in the blood and several things can cause this not just lung problems. Regardless it is dangerous to leave it unattended, even at your age. keep us posted as to what you find out.
