There are many reasons for a cough that can be exactly as you have described. This can be from the upper airways that are draining down the back of your throat. This can be from allergy or a sinus problem. While it is also possible that this can be from your lungs, there are usually other symptoms such as coughing when you are active, when you laugh, during the night etc. I would suggest seeing your physician who can determine where the cough is coming from and address the problem with medication.
Dear Friend,
Have you seen a doctor? What does he/she say about it? What color is the mucous you cough up? Is there a particular time of day when the cough is better or worse? Have you been evaluated for asthma? Allergies? Other conditions? These are just a few issues that you might want to consider. There are many causes for coughs and working with a doctor you can narrow down what is causing it and end your cough. Good luck!
Aloha,
Starion
PS: This is an addition to my above question. I do not smoke and the problem just started to occur. I do not drink alcohol and the problem doesn't seem to keep me awake at night.
No haven't been yet. Usually I get the flu every so often and it passes. As for the color it's either clear or yellow. There is no specific time that it is any worse. I was just wondering if taking something like Niquel would help any.
