Discomfort in breathing..?

lately over the last 4 weeks i have been having trouble breathing not really trouble but i feel the need to get more air in.
i do a self check of my BPM its all good but sometimes when i feel my heart beat its like boom boom pause boom
i do suffer from anxiety and am a hypochondriac could this be it? i recently had a chest x ray and EKG all came back good i also recently just got over glandular fever?

any help will be great

Anxiety can defintely cause problems with breathing, both feelings of shortness of breath and hyperventilating.  

If you are having problems breathing in you probably are hyperventilating and need to take deep breathes (make sure that the exhale is longer than inhale) and relax.
