Enlarged Lymph node near lungs

Hi I am 31 year male. Former moderate smoker and stopped smoking for almost an year. I was having cough and reflux problem. I used to cough with mucus, when ever I used to have oily food my symptoms get worse. I went to doctor and he ordered chest X ray. Initially he said every was good and prescribed antacid tablets and I used them for 10 days. I was back to normal. My cough was gone and I felt healthy. I did not have any other symptoms like sweating at nights, fever or any chest pains. I got a call from the doctor after two days and he said there is some abnormality in chest X ray and ordered CT scan. The CT scan results showed enlargement in one lymph node about 3 cm. He recommended to see a heart specialist. I had taken breathing test and cleared it with no issues. Doctor said my lungs are clear and heart is good. They still have concerns about lymph node enlargement.  They expect this may be a infection or by some other reason. They ordered blood test and a TB skin test. If they did not find any thing they will go for biopsy. Right now I feel well, my cough is almost better and rarely I spit with bit mucus.  I am just waiting for my blood test results.

I am just concerned about what type of problem I might have.

I have the TB test, I have 45 cm bump and redness and the skin test looks more positive. But I already have BCG vaccine at my child hood. Doctor ordered me a sputum test and I am submitting for lab. I still have cough and mainly after taking some food.  Apart from the I have no other problems, no weight loss or weakness. I did notice that I have little bit night sweat.  Doctors have taken blood samples and done the complete blood test, my hemoglobin is pretty good and CBT is normal. White blood cells are normal. The ECR (sed rate) is 23 is slightly higher than normal range 0-15. Apart from that the blood work results are good, thats what nurse told me.

I am scared for my life now. I was a happiest person until I get the cough and my world is turning up side down.

The most common reason for this is a previous infection.  This would not be related to any heart disorder and most likely, unless you were sick at the time, would not affect a breathing test.  If the TB test is normal, some surgeons would suggest an immediate biopsy and others would suggest waiting for 3 months and repeating the CT scan.  Others might order a PET scan which is more specific.  I would discuss all of these options with your physician.
