How long is the recovery time for open lung bipsy

I had my biopsy August 20, 2013 and I still have quite a bit of pain on the front of my lower chest. The doctors are not much help with my question of when the actual recovery is and I am very frustrated with the pain. I am also experiencing the constant tightness of my skin around where the surgery was. Is this normal? Will I be able to be back to a normal life at 100% which I had prior to the surgery? Thank you for your help with my questions.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to answer my question. It seems that the recovery for these type of biopsy takes time. It has been almost three (3) months. Will it last longer, perhaps 4-6 more months? Thank you again.
Regards.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, the pain could be due to pleural inflammation. When the biopsy was taken the pleura could have been injured and the persisting inflammation could be causing the pain. This should settle down. The tightness of the skin could be due to the initial inflammation and later to minimal scar formation. This should also improve with time. If there is worsening of pain or swelling or if you develop fever consult your doctor to rule out an infection. Regards.
