How young can a person be diagnosed with COPD?

My daughter is 15 she has had asthma all her life. Now she has been diagnosed with COPD. Is it normal for a 15 year old to be given such a daignosis?

I have Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. It's a little known about, inherited liver disease that can cause COPD and Emphysema.

Here is a link to read some on it. If it doesn't work just Google Alpha-1. Unfortunately a lot of the medical field isn't aware of it either. I hope you get the answers you are looking for.

And also she should have a pulmonary function test to determine the extent of her copd.
