Hypertensive heart disease with PTB

Good day,

I have been clearing my throat and coughing for sometime now. I got irritated thus, i decided to go for a Chest X-Ray.

The report spelt this:
Bilateral streaky opacties noted in both lung field.
The cardiac size and outlines are preserved.
The lung fields are clear.
Both costophrenic sulci are free.
Normal overlying soft tissues demonstrated.

Impression: Hypertensive heart disease with PTB.

I was diagnosed of TB in 2009, went through the medication religiously. So i don't understand what this means. please i need some form advice.

Thanks.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Tuberculous infection heals by producing scar tissue. So, if you have been treated for tuberculosis and do not have any symptoms now, the opacities in the lung could be the scar tissue. To further confirm this, blood tests like ESR and blood counts will help. So, don't worry and discuss these options with your doctor.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
