Interval nodules?

Hi, is it possible for lung nodules to just show up over the course of a year without being malignant?

I had a ct scan aug 2007, no nodules. Sept 2008, 6 small nodules, all under 1cm. Besides cancer, what else could this be?

Had a recent bout of severe bronchitis, but could that leave nodules like that behind? That many?

On the ct scan they show up as non-calcified-- docs are not convinced they are benign, but also not convinced they are malignant. -- still stuck in limbo

Thanks so much for the post. I had a serious bout of bronchitis/asthma before my scan so I am wondering if that would cause them.

Please keep me posted on your situation!

i have 23 lung nodules and have been told they may be caused from RA. Now i am getting a second opinion on monday sept. 29 2008, because the last ct scan i had the Dr. that reads the scan does not believe they are RA nodules.  So when i find out what else may cause them, i will let you know.  I did read some medications such as methotrexate can cause lung nodules. then i also read treatment for lung nodules was same drug (methotrexate) makes no sence to me. I will keep you posted.  And all the best to you.                      Sher
