Is this Bronchitis, or do I really have Pneumonia?

I have been sick for over 3 weeks now, to be exact, it's been 22 days. I started off with nasel congestion/runny nose. A few days later it felt like I might have a sinus infection, because of the nasel pressure and the body aches too. About a week and a half into this, I started having chest congestion/pressure/pain, and severe headaches to go along with the rest of my symptoms. I finally went to an Urgent Care, and the doctor mentioned pneumonia, and said he'd do a chest x-ray, but didn't think the money was worth it, as well as my health from the radiation. I knew he just didn't want to go any further, because it was closing time. He diagnosed me with bronchitis, and prescribed me doxycycline 100 MG twice a day, along with an allergy med. and 600 MG Ibuprofen. I know that 90% of bronchitis cases are viral. He himself metioned that he didn't want to give my sick daughter an antibiotic for obvious reasons. So why would he give me 10 days worth for "acute bronchitis"? I believe that he knew I have pneumonia, and that's why I'm still sick, after 5 days on an antibiotic. What do you think? Also, do you think it could be something else? I have a history of both bronchitis and pneumonia (hospitalized for one time with pneumonia). Thank You Doctor!

Thank you for your advice Dr. Anitha. Quick update. So, my symptoms have calmed down a notch or two, but not enough to make me feel like I'm healing. I also have a couple more new symptoms. I'm so intensly nausieated now and have been for the last 3 days now. Each day, it's getting more and more intense. I'm also experiencing bouts of severe (middle and up to the back side of my neck), pain and emence amount of pressure. I'm concerned mostly for my newer symptoms. I'm also, so weak and tired.
Thanks again(:

Hi, without imaging studies and lab tests it is difficult to predict the cause for your symptoms. If your symptoms are worsening with the antibiotic then the infecting organism may not be susceptible to the antibiotic. You will need to consult your doctor who may need to do a sputum culture and sensitivity to determine what antibiotic the organism is susceptible to.  He may even ask for blood test and an X ray. In the meantime take OTC acetaminophen for the temperature, try to take warm oral fluids and do steam inhalations prior to your meals. This helps to loosen up and bring out the secretions. Regards.
