Mycoplasma Slow Recovery

I had mycoplasma pneumonia at the end of october 2001. I was hospitalised for nearly a week. Because I have an intolerance to erythromycin I was given other antibiotics that didn't work then eventually clarythromycin which did.
I have felt exhausted and achy ever since. I have had lots of blood tests (including thyroid) which have all come back normal. The situation seems to have been complicated by being prescribed Paxil which caused insomnia. I am now coming of paxil, which is pretty rotten as well!.

I suppose my question is - is it normal to feel exhausted and have so many aches and pains for so long after being ill. I normally have a hectic life (three kids and my own business) but I just feel like I keep hitting a wall and have to stop which is driving me mad. Any advice would be appreciated.

sulu,
Are you doing any better? I've been seeing a doctor who has been treating me for the same thing? I've been on Zithromax for atleast 5 months now. Plus ricpcor, solo-medthoral, for almost the same amount of time.(gained 40 some lbs which I didn't need)
Lequivain, anit-depression med (2 diffrent kinds) protaum (for stomach to mack sure I don't get ulcers) i use mu nubulizer 4 times a day atleast. This has been going on now like I said for 5 months but I've been fighting some form of sickness for the last 6 years.
I wonder how much medicine can one person be on before they are over dosed and son't even know it. At one point I was amiddted to the hospital and thought I had been in for 5 days and foung out after leaving i had been in for 2 weeks. They said I was a walking shell. Nothing was in my body like posstuim, nutrition, or anything that was surpose to be there to fight of infection.
I haven't been to work in 5 months or drove anywhere or gone anywhere because of the the way the med make me feel.
Please some one atleast let me know if this is normal.
I go back to my doctor july 3rd. I have know I deal whats going to go on there?
Please don't tell me to find another dr this is my 4th one and atleast he is trying something. Hes talking to other dr in denver and california that has patianice whith the same thing.
Will I ever be over this???? I really could hear form someone
who is going though the same thing or been though it???
I am finally starting to feel a tiny bit better, and i don't want to do anything that will miss it up.
Really would like to hear form some one.
thanks abjjbishop

It is not common to have a continuance of symptoms 7 months after an infection. However, it appears your body went through a major shock with this infection and it is simply taking longer for you to fully recover. I am not sure why you were prescribed the Paxil, but this may also be a factor in this recovery.
