Nasal Congestion when sleeping

For the past few years I have had problems sleeping at night due to a lack of ability to breath through my nose when I lie down.  I find later on in the evening when I start to relax and am just sitting down on the couch my nasal way starts to get resticted, and when I lay down it usually closes off. When I wake up in the morning it is closed off and once I start moving around it clears up.  I also have cold hands and feet all the time, so I asked my doctor about a circulation problem and was told my circulation it just fine.  The only thing I ever get perscribed is Nasonex, which does not help the situation!  Once in a while Clariton pills will work, other time it does not.  Clariton nasal spray works for the first two days then I get a rebound effect and I can't even breath through my nose during the day then.

I just lost my family doctor, and no other doctor's in my area are taking patients! So unless I go to the emergency, I'm SOL!

Does anyone have any suggestions? This is really starting to effect my life as I am getting severly sleep deprived.

Nasal sprays recomended by my doctor didn't work, so he then told me to use a neti pot.  I have been using it and it works great!!  It is good for colds, allergies, and any sinus trouble.  It is only $20.00.  Make sure you read the instructions well, make sure you use distilled water, you can get at your drug store, or you can boil the water you have at home.  It is amazing!!!  Easy to use as well.
Good luck!!   Carla.

See a ear, nose, and throat specialist if you can.
