I have been suffering from sinus infections all of my life, but only 2-3 per year at max. I have also had a terrible post-nasal drip since I was born that NEVER goes away. Since January 2006, my life has been a nightmare. I got a sinus infection around that time that lasted for 2.5 months that included a debilitating cough. I coughed so bad and threw up so often that I couldn't work. The infection never moved into my chest and a very powerful regimen of antibiotics finally killed it. The same thing happened again in September of 2006.
It recurred a month later in December of 2006. I suddenly realized that something had to have changed anatomically. No matter how many times I did nasal washes or blew my nose (by the way, I do EVERYTHING to try and prevent these infections so don't throw meds at me) my right side always felt blocked. The infections always began when my right-side became blocked. Whenever I got a sore throat, it was only on the right side of my throat. My left-side feels like a summers day.
I recently underwent massive surgery. I had a rhinoplasty for nasal valve collapse, a septoplasty, a sinuplasty, and hundreds of polyps removed. But guess what? My right side STILL feels blocked in the EXACT same way. Are the Doctors missing something? I am about to endure my first sinus infection after surgery only 5 days off of the postop antibiotic. It always hurts when I swallow on the right side of my face and my right ear pops a little. I always feel pressure on the right side kind of in the ethmoid/maxillary area. PLEASE HELP!
