I'm nearly 24 and have had troubles breathing through my nose for at least a decade. Over the past year and a half + I have developed some undiagnosed chronic problems (pain, weakness, exhaustion, trouble walking, etc) and with this my breathing troubles have increased significantly.
I have been to the ENT many times but it seems they're stumped at this point. I have been pointed towards a pulmonologist, which I haven't been able to get into yet.
I have done multiple rounds of different kinds of sprays. No help.
My turbinates were large so we did surgery to reduce both, did not improve breathing, one swelled up again (and my breathing on both sides is identical so we don't think turbinates are the issue then).
Had a CT scan of my sinuses done, but everything looks great. My doctor went over the scan with me personally as we talked about it. Sinuses completely empty, the one turbinate large again, septum only deviated a tiny bit and would not affect breathing.
I don't feel congested or like there's pressure (of course not, my sinuses are empty!), but it always feels like I'm breathing through coffee straws. I have a constant drip of clear mucus coming from my nose which also runs down my throat noticeably.
I do now have trouble breathing from my lung/throat. Nothing is painful, but it does feel like I'm breathing through a tight space there as well. I have to work much harder to breathe, it's now something I think about doing rather than just naturally doing it, I can't breathe very deep (weakness?).
I am unsure if my breathing troubles from my nose and chest are from the same cause.
Does anyone know what could at least cause my nose troubles? A clear CT scan has me hopeless at this point.
