Recovery time from double pneumonia

My father who is 77 got suffered severe double pneumonia and was in the ICU for 6 days. He was on the ventilation machine for sometime while at ICU but he was able to take solids and had a very positive mindset to recover. His oxygen saturation level was 82 when he was discharged and he is being given oxygen at a flow rate of 1. Since he came home his cheerfulness is gone and he looks sad. He takes his solids well. He speaks only when spoken to and is still very weak. Watches TV but falls asleep half way. He is being nebulized ever 3 hours too. He can sit on own but with difficuty but cant stand or walk on own. Can  someone pls advice on whether he will recover soon n be off oxygen n lead a normal life? His last xray showed a clear left lung but the right lung wasnt that clear. :(
