Squeak on deep inhale

I have been experiencing a sporadic squeaking sound on a deep inhale, for about six months now.  I also sometimes, feel a bubbly sensation under my ribcage, by my sternum, slightly to the left.  At first, I thought that was a digestive issue, but after reading another persons similar experience, I wonder if the two are related.  I cannot find a pattern to the symptoms, or make a connection.  My doctor thought it might be allergies.
After smoking on and off for 7 years, and heavily at times, I can't help but worry that it could be a result of that.  But, I quit smoking 8 years ago.  I am almost 36 now.  I do seem to have a lot of mucus to clear out of my throat.  Could that be the cause? Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi. Did you manage to get any answers to your symptoms? I have the exact same thing and nobody seems to know what it is. Squeak/wheeze on deep inhale and sometimes bubble sensation. Also need to clear my throat a lot without any other symptoms of a cold/flu etc.

Yes, the serections can also make a squeak (or inspiratory wheeze). Some people have "PVC's" this is a flutter your heart makes due to caffine and things of that nature.  They are VERY normal, I have them as well, and notice it when laying on my side.  Drinking plenty of water seems too easy to be true, but it will thin out the secretions. Hope this helps! May GOD BLESS U
