What should I do now? Cronic nasal problems, headaches, etc

Hello, I have had severe and constant swelling of the turbines  of my nose over years and it's become worse.  I do not have runny nose or any drainage of any sort.  I have also had a headache just as persistant (24-7) where I gain temporary relief by blowing air into my ears but when I let go the headache just comes right back.  The headache is mainly centered in the "third eye" region, or just over the sinuses between your eyes, and spreads tension all over my forehead and up to the top/back of my head where it feels like a heavy weight is sitting making me feel heavy headed and miserable.   Also, I have had on and off again problems with nasty positional vertigo.

Based on my research, I have theorized that since I've had negative allergy testing that I have either 1) a vasomotor (non allergic) turbine problem such as parasympathetic nervous system problem, or 2) high cranial blood pressure, undetectable by standard blood pressure cuff, much like pulminary hypertension, except in my head.

Do either of my theories bear any consideration?  how could either be proven or disproven?  Better yet what are some other theories?
Also, by the description of my headache, does it sound like that it may be being caused by the turbines pressing up against the nasal lining (especially since I gain relief by holding my nose and blowing air into my ears)?
My doctors aren't saying much about my problem except "do you want to see a psychologist" I don't have insurance and I am a PT at a charity hospital.   So I ask you please help me?

It is not likely that the nose is the primary cause of these headaches without blocking the openings of the sinuses and creating pressure.  This is relatively easy to determine with a CT of the sinuses.  This is different from the brain tests you have had already.  A localized blood flow problem without a localized vascular problem is unlikely.  If there is a localized vascular problem, this too can be seen on the CT scan.  The pressure could also be a source of the vertigo.  This is the way I would recommend proceeding.  Trying to make these diagnoses on a physical examination without a CT scan is almost impossible.

Hi

I know what you are going through,It has been a really bad year for me,I have been having migrain/sinus headaches for the last 10 months and I am off my work,I have been to see all the consultants that you can think of,my last visit was to the neurologist and he said he thnks it is migraine,I am not so sure?
I think it might be comming off my deviated septum and like you
I wake up every morning with pain,I know this sounds really sad but I bought a torch to look at my turbinates and I am sure they are really large.I am sure they all think I am going off my head, but then again we all know our bodies better that any doctors,I have been on so many tablets MAXLAT, ANTDEPRESSENTS, CO CODAMOL,now I am on a beta blocker which is helping to take the edge of it,I want to have a septoplasty with turbinate reduction,I will speak to my doctor in a month,I just want to get on with my life again I have been so down.

my 14 year old daughter is going through the same thing.  I think she is getting depressed on top of it because everyone thinks it is in her head and her school is on her back for missing so many days.  My daughter has a headache 24/7 and sinus pressure over, under, and between her eyes.  she just finished her second round of antibiotics.  We have a doctors appointment tomorrow with a consultation because I am tired of her being medicated and nothing else.  there has to be something going on.  her asthma is flaring up as well, and i'm not sure if that is medical or stress related.  i wish the best for all of you who are suffering and with no answers.  i'll keep you up to date if i get any helpful information.

hi, her doctor put her on a third round of antibiotics. she had an x-ray of her sinuses and it came back normal but her doc said they're not alway accurate.  he also took her off one of her nasl sprays (he kept her on the cordisone one) but said the other might be causing a rebound.  she still has headaches and gets dizzy all the time.  she went back to school but came home early.  not sure what the next step is, maybe an ear, nose, eye doc to make sure it isn't an inner ear problem with the dizzyness and all.  sometimes i feel loke we live at the doctors.  well o'll keep you posted.  i hope things start going better for you too.  let me know.

My wife has had a runny nose now for more than a year. My wife has told me that she has allergies even though she has not seen a specialist. I suspect that my wife is sniffing a drug through her nose and I can't be sure of it but have noticed some nervous twitches and can not be absolutely certain if she is sniffing a drug or if she truly has allergies. I would like to know what kind of test can be performed to detect if she is taking an illegal or legal drug.My wife has taken antidepressants for some time and I don't know if she still takes them, she refuses to answer any of my questions regarding her health. In addition to this dilemma my wife is an alcoholic and suspect that she is using a substitute drug for her addiction. Please advise me as to how I can perform a test without her being suspicious and what can I suggest that she has done when seeing a medical specialist to alleviate her of this condition.
