Why does my chest still hurt after quitting smoking?

I quit smoking 2 weeks ago I used to smoke less than a pack a day for about 3 years, right before I quit I began to feel a slight chest pain that occurs 4 or 5 times a day mostly in the left side of my chest and then it disappears in a minute or two and that's it, no cough no tightness nothing but it worried me a lot so I quit now after 2 weeks I still experience the same pain, what could it possibly be?

Hello and welcome to the forum!  Congratulations on quitting smoking!  That's one of the very best things you can do for your health.  We commend you for it and know it is not always easy.  I think because this symptom is persisting, you really need to see your doctor as soon as possible.  Angina is the concern. https://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/heart-disease-angina However,  It is most likely inflammation of the bronchi which is very common and why many people have chest pain after giving up smoking.  However, it is really best to be examined by a doctor to make sure.  Your lungs are going back to normal if you will and many people do have some chest discomfort after smoking.  See your doctor to be safe but am very pleased to read that you are no longer smoking.  Keep up the good work!
