MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
It must be very frustrating to live with this undiagnosed condition.  One condition that may not have been considered is Eosinophilic Esophagitis-Gastritis (EGID)

Laboratory studies, including elevations of peripheral eosinophil counts, IgE levels, and positive radio-allergosorbent tests (RASTs) or skin ***** and patch tests to food antigens, suggest an allergic predisposition in a considerable number of the patients, upper endoscopy and esophageal biopsies substantiate the diagnosis of EE.

The strong association of EGID with food allergies has prompted the use of restrictive or elemental diets to treat it.

I note that you have had endoscopic examination of your esophagus and stomach.  The appearance of the esophagus in these cases may be normal, (the disease not apparent) although most cases are associated with one or more characteristic findings. Biopsy of the esophagus or stomach is often necessary to establish the diagnosis.

I suggest you contact a gastroenterologist (GI) preferably one with whom you have already had contact and ask if this diagnosis could be considered.  Please let us know what comes of that consult.

Good luck

My symptoms sound similar quite similar. I was diagnosed with asthma at 6wks. of age, now I'm 62.  My asthma has worsened over past 20 years, more frequent steroids, antibiotics, nebs., prescribed--still monthly bronchitis. All resp. cultures over the years were neg., until this year, when tested positive for pseudomonas and chest CT shows bronchiectasis. Further labs have shown low Immune Globulin G levels. I, also have excess mucus, wheezing, and think I'm dying sometimes.  Apparently am colonized with Pseudomonas. The Immunologist from Johns Hopkins wants to begin Immune Globulin treatment (weekly infusions at home of Immune Globulin)I have no detectable titer to pneumonia or influenza (and
possibly other previous vaccinations),despite 3 pneumonia shots and flu shot this yr.  . For many years, I've been sick, and now after going to Hopkins I'm told by pulmonologist that I "likely never had asthma to begin with". Thousands of $$ spent by me and insurance over the years, and now even more expensive treatment, which won't cure me, but may improve my resp. status. I'm an RN in a hospital (on psych. unit),
now afraid to even go out of the house until I begin gammaglobulin tx.
Please encourage people to go to a large treatment hospital if they want answers to what's wrong with them.I should have done so many years ago, but stayed with the same local pulmonologist for years, getting sicker and sicker.  Thanks for writing and informing folks about their illnesses.  My medical history reads like a horror story--should have gone to Hopkins years ago--but now have permanent airway damage from lung infections, reflux, and who knows what. Was neg. for cystic fibrosis-which can be diagnosed in older people for the first time.  That was news to me. Its called variant cystic fibrosis (apparently is a milder form of that disease).

hello doctor im glad to hear back  from you, i live in ca i wish i was in Denver colorado to see you  . honestly, most, not all ,doctors don't  take their time and listen to their patients .   i did endoscopy and  the doctor said i  have grastritis,he prescribed to me aciphex after i ve taken most of the gastric reflux medication, which they fall flat. i had this problem 15 years ago and the constant spit is causing irritation on my throat, respiratory system and im sure caused me pre athmatic  symptoms, tried all allergy and gastric medications and nothing permanent just  periodic treatment ,  did blood test, glycose  etc ...very frustrated and as i mentioned earlier when i do a hand stand  and  bend my legs forward  blood comes in the spit 4-5 times  . now im taking generic  protonix and does not work i do believe correct me if im wrong generic medication is not the same as brand names . now the doctor is petitioning for me to get aciphex but as you see is speculation
the doctor said they took sample when they performed the endoscopy and found no cancerous symptoms etc so story short gastritis
i eat very heathy im from middle east originally lebanon, when i lived in nyc i used to go to the jewish center i felt very comfortable
please keep replying to me i wish you are close to the area where i live i would like to see you  and make appointment thanks hope to hear from you
and im kind of person who does not like to stay on medication for life and keep trying  for years , i don't smoke don't drink don't do drugs never ever and i cook healthy food no mc donald no junk but i eat sweet i drink beverage once a week i stopped now it increases my spit acid .  but i eat very healthy .i don't mind if you can be my doctor via the internet . makes me nervous  . thank you doctor for your  reply please reply back
