Heart beating really fast is called “palpitation”. Fast heart beat may not always be accompanied by chest pain. Fast heart beat could occur due to many causes (eg. anxiety, fear, underlying heart disease etc), which may occur without chest pain. One common cause of chest pain followed by a quick heart beat is hyperacidity. This resolves with taking a course of acid suppressants or antacids. You may like to get an ECG done to make sure there is no other cause of these episodes.
