cough & vomiting mucus

I go into a coughing spell that won't stop until a vomit a large wad of clear mucus.  I have been to Pulmonary Dr., ENT Dr., MD's. Asthma & Allergy Consultants and they all say something different. Please give me some information.

I have had the same issue for months! Actually since January! I get a tickle on one of my tonsils and that is my sign! I run for the bathroom and sit on the toilet with a bowl! I puke so hard I pee myself and feel like I could pass out from not being able to catch my breath! I to throw up mucus! It sounds horrible and my family is irate! I can't predict when it will happen! I can be fine one minute and the next puking my guts up! Have also been to all the doctors above with no relief! I just want to be normal again!!!!! Any ideas??? Plz help me!!!!

Did you ever find an answer?  I have done the same thing and been to all the doctors, had all the tests and I mean all, and the same diagnosis as you...keep chronic sinus infections now escalated to asthmatic bronchitis which has occured now 2 times in one month....had about 5 good days....definitely wears you out....I am so tired of this....totally affecting my quality of life!!!

I have been coughing and throwing up phlegm for months now.  I take antibiotics and for about a week after I introduce a new antibiotic I don't cough but then slowly I  begin coughing again even though I'm still taking the antibiotic.  I've taken 3 kinds of antibiotics but nothing keeps the cough away for more than a week.   I've beem to a Pulminlogicist, Eye, Ear and Throat doctor but no relief.  I vomit for long periods and the vomiting makes me so weak I can hardly stand up.  One MD says I have asthma, another says allegeries, other says sinus infections/post nasal drip.  I agree with the last doctor but can't find the right medication to clear it up. I hope we both stumble upon the right treatment for our coughing/vomiting/exhausting condition.

I have had the same symptoms for over 3 months! I have been to a doctor and he said I had asthma. I told him that's impossible, bc I have no family history of asthma and I have never had respiratory problems. After an x-ray, he said my lungs were clear and healthy, so he ruled out asthma and chalked it up to allergies (which I also have never had a history of.) He sent me on my way with a prescription for Claritin and Albuterol inhaler. He said it should be cleared up in about 10 says with the Claritin and to only use the inhaler when I need it. Well, that was three months ago and thank goodness for that $55 inhaler, bc I swear sometimes I feel like I'm about to die just going up the stairs or in the middle of the night after a cough attack. I've also been losing quite a lot of weight, bc I'm afraid to eat anything (the coughing and throwing up that ensues after I'm done eating is very weakening.) I don't have insurance, so the only place I can get medical attention is the county clinic where there are nothing but hack doctors like "Dr. Claritin." Please, if anyone can lead me in the right direction as to how I can treat this I would GREATLY appreciate it.

i have the same thing but im on no meds, have acid reflux..i will get where i cant breathe deep at all and then i will start the coughing spells, sometimes it happens in middle of night while i sleep, or after eating,or just in general then once i cough enough to vomit a very large amount of mucus (and get all of it out ...sometimes harder than others i can breathe again and back to normal. but i have no idea what it is...

I have had this for a long time.  It had gotten somewhat better but then it was really bad again.  Through process of elimination I realized I started a blood pressure medication the generic for Zestril.  I cut the dosage back and it got better then I stopped it and the coughing & vomiting stopped.  It's not gone but I'm out of the terrible period.  Are you on any medicines?
