for about 5 years i am having mucus in my throat, ihave taken all types of medications none helps.

I am not a Doctor ,but I have had problem with excessive mucus production for past year or so .I found that Pseudoephedrine (Sudafed) helps but today I took some Goldenseal mixed with Echinacea  (be sure to source this from reputable supplier and also check with your Doctor before taking in case interacts with other drugs or problems)  . I took for first time this morning and can say that with few hours my mucus has normalised and I am no longer spending all my time clearing my throat. This was very profound and noticeable effect but is too early to say whether it will clear all the problem for good.   Anyway for anyone with excess mucus I would highly suggest trying Goldenseal either on its own or mixed with Echinacea  ,but make sure is good bona fide supplier (try www.naturesbest.co.uk)   If it works please post update and let everyone know.

The first order of business if for you to see an ENT specialist, one capable of determining the anatomic site and the disease process (allergy, infection etc.) causing you to experience excessive mucous in the throat.  Only then will it be possible to determine what would be the most effective treatment for your condition.  

The source could be anywhere in your respiratory tract or even be caused by acid reflux from your stomach.  The ENT exam will require direct examination of your nose and throat and X-rays or CT scan of the sinuses.

You are the same as me I get the mucas in my head like my head is draining nucas must be the sinuses.  I have taken all medication but nothing works.  I was frustrated as asked to go on a duustmite tablet trial but could not becuase I dont take ventalin for Astma.  I am now going to Gus Hospital to ask to have injections.  I am at my wits end with this condition have had it 31 years.  I leave my telephone number it is 07941 935186.  Please do not hesitate to contact me.
